The first rule to making something sustainable? Build it to last. This short is built to endure the rigors of serious wear. We removed zippers, because they will inevitably fail. We made it out of our AFO-Vent fabric — a durable nylon that is lightweight yet tough, abrasion resistant, odor resistant and will retain its shape. We changed the drawcord to an infinity loop that will not get tugged out in the wash and we reinforced the pocket openings with 14 bar tacks.

Our AFO-Vent fabric is also bluesign® certified meaning it is free from harmful chemicals and is fabricated in a way that meets a high environmental standard.

Best overall running shorts I've owned

By far this is the best running short I've had in the last 30+ years. The perfect blend of lightweight material and storage. These is the first shorts I've owned that have absolutely no bounce with my cell phone (you can almost forget it's there), plus more pockets for keys, fuel, or anything else you need it for.

These are easily my favorite all-time shorts. I can pack the pockets with gels, car keys, and phone. The small fits me perfectly (28” waist); they’re closer to the fit of the older AFOs with the blue liner, which were a lot for me than the newer version with the black liner. Once Janji releases more colors I’ll definitely buy another pair or two.

This is what every running short should be. Just perfect. The pockets are so perfect for small things (snacks, snack, roll of dog poop bags, phone) all secure and not bouncing around. I can’t wait for some run color schemes to be released.

5in Multi Short Review from a Ultra Trail Runner

This short exceeded expectations. I was a super fan of version one which actually had a 4 inch length instead of five the pockets are the highlights of the short along with how well it dries. The brief does a great job at staying clean, and odorless on multi day adventures. I am glad to see the multi short back in action with a less than 7 inch length.

Love these. They feel similar to the 5" AFO but are also good for just wearing around because they can carry more stuff. I prefer these over the 7" because the brief liner is more comfortable, and I also like a shorter short. Definitely recommend!

More storage space is a good thing!

Been looking for marathon shorts with decent storage. Have always loved the fit of the Janji 5" Middle Shorts. I think these Multi shorts might be what I've been waiting for! A bit snugger than the Middle Shorts, but they feel great on the run. Love the pockets. Now I can marathon while carrying my phone and several gels. No bounce at all, but I would have preferred a zippered back pocket for the phone. Still, I think I'm going to like these shorts! Keep up the great work, Janji!
